Enjoy a hike and help us clean debris!
Diamond Creek to Homer is part of CoastWalk Zones 2 and 3. Every year we host public clean-up days to get people outside, cleaning up marine debris, and collecting data about debris movement through Kachemak Bay!
On September 27th, we’ll meet at 10am the Diamond Creek trailhead. We’ll hike to the beach at the mouth of Diamond Creek, then walk the 6 miles of beach all the way down to Bishops’s Beach. We’ll clean and record data from all the debris we find. A shuttle will be available at Bishop’s Beach to take participants back to their cars. Depending on participation, several trips might need to be made, so we understand if you’d like to arrange your own ride back. Make sure to bring weather-appropriate gear, lunch and snacks, gloves, and anything else you need to get down with the debris!
