Head across the bay and help us clean up marine debris!
McKeon Spit at the mouth of China Poot Bay is part of CoastWalk Zone 21. Every year we host public clean-up days to get people across Kachemak Bay, cleaning up marine debris, and collecting data about debris movement!
On October 4th, we’ll meet at the Yurt on the Spit at 9:00am before journeying to McKeon Spit. After spending the day on the beach, we’ll be back in the Harbor by 2:30pm. Make sure to bring weather-appropriate gear, lunch and snacks, gloves, and anything else you need to get down with the debris!
This is a FREE opportunity to get across the bay for an incredible volunteer opportunity.
