  • How quickly does this program fill?

Knee-High Naturalists is held once a week during the summer, and is very popular with local Homer families. We encourage participants to register in advance, and there is usually space each week to accommodate drop-in participants. To be notified when registration is open, please sign up for our email list.

Will we be outside if it's raining?

The Daisy Lee Bitter Outdoor Learning Space is equipped with a covered pavilion, so yes! Even in the rain, you and your toddler are able to explore and experience the beauty of the Wynn Nature Center. Please make sure you and your child comes with appropriate rain gear. As the old saying goes: there's no such thing as bad weather, just ill-suited clothing!

Do I need to pack my child a lunch?

This program is only one hour long. We encourage you to bring snacks if you anticipate your child will get hungry. If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let our staff know during registration.

How does Coastal Studies manage participants' behavior?

Our staff are dedicated and trained to help all participants have successful and educational experiences. Please review our Behavioral Policy to learn more about how we support our students and create a positive learning environment.
