Nature Journaling Retreat

  • Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies 708 Smoky Bay Way Homer, AK, 99603 United States (map)

ALL SPACES ARE FULL!

Join local artist Kim McNett for three days of immersive workshops and nature exploration at the Peterson Bay Field Station. Learn beginner-friendly field sketching and recording techniques that will strengthen your observation skills. PBFS is a remote education facility with dock access surrounded by tidepools, beaches, and forest trails. Water taxi, meals, comfortable workspaces, basic supplies, and a yurt stay all included.

Nature journaling is a practice of creativity and curiosity that draws from our own experiences in the natural world. It is a process-based activity—artistic talent is not required!

This is an adult-level course. Children ages 13 and above are able to participate in the workshop with a responsible adult. Teens ages 16-17 are allowed to participate in the course on their own, but will need to have their parents/guardians sign a waiver.

Cost: $360 per person (includes water taxis, food, and lodging)
