A Wildcrafting Workshop at Inspiration Ridge Preserve

Common species in Alaska include U. dioica ssp. gracilis, U. Lyalli (pictured), and U. urens.

Stinging Nettles (Urtica spp.) are an incredibly important plant for fiber making as well as a nutritious spring vegetable, and a medicinal herb. In this workshop, learn how to harvest stinging nettles and process them to make cordage or rope out of the fibers.

All materials provided. No experience required, all ages welcome (with parental supervision).

Adults: $35
