Alaska Coastal Ecology Trips for Groups

Ecology field study for college, high school or other organized youth or adult groups can be arranged during the spring, summer, or fall. Program length ranges from one to seven+ days with guided activities based out of the Peterson Bay Field Station, and lodging provided in 5 comfortable yurts. In this immersive environment, students head out on the trails and beaches to learn about topics such as the changing coastal forests and invasive species; water quality, plankton tows, and Harmful Algal Blooms; intertidal ecology and monitoring efforts at Otter Rock and China Poot Bay; and human interactions with these lands and waters over time.  We'll work with you to create a schedule of activities that fits your groups' focus, interests, abilities, and needs. Additional activities available at the Wynn Nature Center, Kasitsna Bay Lab, or aboard a kayak or water taxi in Kachemak Bay.  Contact Katie Gavenus at 907-235-1974 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
